House removal prices
One man and van
Most booked
from
£40 / hour
You help with the lifting. Best for boxes, small flat moves and single rooms. Two hour minimum.
Two men and van
from
£60 / hour
Nothing for you to lift. Needed for wardrobes, sofas, appliances and anything up stairs.
Half day
from
£150 / 4 hrs
Works out cheaper than hourly once you pass three hours. Covers most one-bed moves.
Full day
from
£280 / 8 hrs
Multiple trips, bigger loads, or a move with a long drive at either end.
What that price actually is. These are starting prices for jobs around North Ayrshire. Once you’ve told us the postcodes, the access and roughly what’s moving, we convert it into a fixed price for your job — and that’s the figure you pay. We don’t bill extra hours because the day ran long at our end.
What moves the price up or down
Stairs and access
A ground floor flat with a driveway is quicker than a third floor tenement with no lift. Tell us and we’ll build the time in rather than discover it.
How much is going
A few boxes and a bed is a different job from a full one-bed flat. Rough is fine — we don’t need an inventory.
Distance between the two addresses
Local runs around Ayrshire are the cheapest. Glasgow, Paisley and Ayr add drive time. Longer Scottish runs are usually a day rate.
Whether it's one man or two
The biggest single factor. If there’s anything heavy or anything above the ground floor, two is faster and often cheaper overall.
Timing
Weekends and month-end are busier. Midweek is easier to book at short notice and usually easier on the price.
Anything awkward
Pianos, safes, American fridges and garden machinery need planning. Send a photo and we’ll tell you straight whether we’re the right people.

Man and van questions
How much does a man and van cost?
Ours start at £40 an hour for one man and a van, or £60 an hour for two, with a two hour minimum. Half days start at £150 and full days at £280. Once we know the postcodes, the access and roughly what’s moving, we turn that into a fixed price for your job rather than leaving you on a meter.
Do I need one man or two?
One is fine if you can lift the other end and there are no stairs. Book two if there are wardrobes, sofas, appliances, or anything above the ground floor. Two men often works out cheaper overall because the job takes half the time — we’ll tell you honestly which your job needs.
Is the hourly rate charged from when you leave your base?
No. You’re quoted a fixed price for the job, so our travel time to you is already accounted for. You aren’t paying for us to drive to your door or back again afterwards.
Can you take rubbish away at the same time?
Sometimes, but it’s priced separately because tip charges apply. Mention it when you book and we’ll quote it alongside the move rather than surprising you on the day.
How much notice do you need?
Midweek we can often manage next-day at short notice. Weekends and the end of the month book up first, so give us a few days if you can. Ring us either way — it costs nothing to ask.
